Backbone Comedy is the creation of Glasgow Comic Jimi Longmuir. When he first started performing in 2019, a few of his performing friends would gather to try out new ideas and material in the basement of the legendary Blackfriars venue in Merchant City every Saturday afternoon. That led to a couple of chaotic nights at the venue proper, as well as the Tennents Bar on Byres Rd. Along with projects online throughout the Pandemic and live shows since at clubs and festivals across the country, Backbone have become a collective that showcases a diverse and dynamic range of voices. For 2024, we are excited to be back and part of the GICF, once again with Gigging It Up at The Griffin. This is our second year running at this historic venue with Gigging It Up for GICF and we can't wait to return.
